Refunds & Returns Policy
Last Updated: September 2026
At Deytech, we want our customers to shop with confidence. This Refunds & Returns Policy explains when products may be returned, how to request a return, responsibility for return shipping costs, exchanges, cancellations, and how refunds are processed.
This policy applies to purchases made through the Deytech online store and operates alongside applicable South African consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or waive any consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
1. Standard Returns
For eligible change-of-mind or other standard returns, customers may request a return within 30 calendar days from the date the order is delivered.
Before returning any product, customers must contact Deytech to request return instructions.
Email: info@deytech.co.za
Phone: +27 79 214 1701
The 30-day standard return period does not limit or replace any statutory rights that may apply to defective, unsafe, damaged, incorrectly supplied, or otherwise non-conforming products.
2. Conditions for Standard Returns
For a standard change-of-mind return, the product should, where reasonably possible, be:
- Unused and unopened;
- In its original packaging;
- In a resalable condition;
- Complete with all accessories, cables, manuals, documentation, and other components supplied with the product; and
- Free from damage or excessive signs of use.
Customers may inspect products to the extent reasonably necessary to determine their nature, characteristics, and functionality.
Where a returned product has been used or damaged beyond what is reasonably necessary for inspection, Deytech may assess the condition of the product and the applicable remedy, subject to applicable South African consumer protection law.
Deytech does not charge a restocking fee for eligible standard returns.
3. Products That May Not Qualify for Standard Change-of-Mind Returns
Where permitted by applicable law, the following may not qualify for a standard change-of-mind return:
- Custom-designed solar systems;
- Custom-configured solar systems;
- Solar systems specifically configured according to a customer’s site or energy requirements;
- Products specially ordered or sourced specifically for a customer;
- Products that have been installed, commissioned, modified, or integrated into an electrical installation;
- Gift cards; and
- Clearance or final-sale products where the applicable terms clearly state that standard change-of-mind returns are not available.
These exclusions do not affect statutory consumer rights relating to defective, unsafe, damaged, incorrectly supplied, or otherwise non-conforming goods.
4. Solar Systems and Installed Equipment
Complete solar systems require special consideration because they may contain multiple components and may be supplied together with installation services.
Where a solar system has been:
- Custom configured;
- Delivered specifically for a customer’s installation;
- Installed;
- Commissioned;
- Connected to an electrical installation; or
- Modified or integrated into the customer’s property,
the standard change-of-mind return process may not apply in the same way as it does to unused standalone products.
If a customer wishes to cancel or return a solar system, the customer should contact Deytech before installation or modification takes place, wherever reasonably possible.
Any applicable remedy will be determined in accordance with the order terms, the nature of the goods or services supplied, and applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
5. Defective, Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products
If you receive a product that is:
- Damaged during delivery;
- Faulty or defective;
- Unsafe;
- Incorrectly supplied; or
- Materially different from the product ordered,
please contact Deytech as soon as reasonably possible.
Email: info@deytech.co.za
Phone: +27 79 214 1701
Please provide:
- Your order number;
- Your name;
- A description of the problem; and
- Photographs or video showing the product, packaging, and issue where applicable.
Deytech will assess the matter and, where applicable, arrange an appropriate remedy such as a repair, replacement, or refund, in accordance with applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
Where a statutory remedy applies, the customer’s rights under applicable law will take precedence over this policy.
6. Products Damaged During Delivery
If a product arrives visibly damaged, please contact Deytech as soon as reasonably possible.
Where possible, please:
- Photograph the external packaging before opening it;
- Photograph any visible damage;
- Photograph the product and relevant packaging materials; and
- Keep the original packaging until Deytech has had an opportunity to assess the matter.
Do not attempt to repair or modify a potentially damaged electrical product unless instructed by a suitably qualified professional.
Deytech will investigate the matter and determine the appropriate resolution in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the order.
7. How to Request a Return
Please contact Deytech before sending any product back.
Return Request Details
Email: info@deytech.co.za
Phone: +27 79 214 1701
Please include:
- Order number;
- Full name;
- Product name;
- Reason for the return;
- Date the order was received; and
- Photographs or other supporting information where relevant.
After reviewing your request, Deytech will provide the appropriate return instructions.
Please do not send products to an address obtained from an old order, third-party website, or another source. Always obtain current return instructions from Deytech before returning a product.
8. Return Shipping Costs
For an eligible standard change-of-mind return, where the product is not defective or incorrectly supplied, the customer will generally be responsible for the reasonable cost of returning the product.
Where a return is required because:
- The product is defective;
- The product was damaged during delivery;
- The wrong product was supplied; or
- The issue resulted from an error attributable to Deytech,
Deytech will arrange or cover reasonable return shipping costs where required by applicable law.
Customers who are responsible for return shipping should use a reliable and trackable delivery service.
Please retain proof of shipment and tracking information until the return has been completed.
9. Return Inspection
When a returned product is received, Deytech may inspect the product to confirm:
- That the product corresponds with the original order;
- The condition of the product;
- Whether the product is complete;
- Whether all supplied accessories and components have been included; and
- The reason for the return.
We will communicate the outcome of the return assessment and the applicable next steps.
10. Refunds
Once an eligible return has been approved, Deytech will process the applicable refund within 10 business days after the returned product has been received and assessed, unless a different timeframe is required by applicable law.
Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method used for the purchase.
Refunds are processed in South African Rand (ZAR).
Your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may require additional time to reflect the refunded amount in your account.
Where applicable law requires a refund to be processed within a different timeframe, the applicable legal requirement will take precedence.
11. Original Shipping Charges
For an eligible standard change-of-mind return, the original shipping charge paid when placing the order is generally not refundable, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Where the return results from:
- A defective product;
- Damage attributable to delivery;
- An incorrect product being supplied; or
- An error attributable to Deytech,
shipping charges will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection requirements.
12. Partial Refunds
Where permitted by applicable law, the amount refunded for a standard return may be affected where a product has been:
- Used beyond what is reasonably necessary for inspection;
- Damaged;
- Altered;
- Returned incomplete; or
- Returned without accessories or components supplied with the original order.
Any assessment will take into account the circumstances of the return and the customer’s statutory rights.
Deytech does not charge a restocking fee simply because an eligible product is returned.
13. Exchanges
Where appropriate, Deytech may provide an exchange where a product is confirmed to be defective, damaged, or incorrectly supplied.
To request an exchange, contact:
Email: info@deytech.co.za
Phone: +27 79 214 1701
Please provide your order number and supporting photographs or video where applicable.
If the same replacement product is unavailable, Deytech will discuss the appropriate available remedy with the customer, which may include a refund or another suitable replacement where applicable.
14. Order Cancellations
If you wish to cancel an order, please contact Deytech as soon as possible.
Email: info@deytech.co.za
Phone: +27 79 214 1701
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate cancellation requests received before an order has been dispatched.
Once an order has been dispatched, cancellation may no longer be possible and the applicable return procedure may need to be followed.
For solar systems or orders involving installation, cancellation may also depend on whether equipment has already been specially ordered, configured, delivered, installed, or commissioned.
Any cancellation rights provided by South African law remain unaffected.
15. Late or Missing Refunds
If you have been notified that your refund has been processed but cannot see the funds in your account:
- Check your bank or payment account.
- Contact your bank, card issuer, or payment provider.
- If the refund still cannot be located, contact Deytech.
Please provide your order number so that we can investigate the refund status.
Email: info@deytech.co.za
Phone: +27 79 214 1701
16. Consumer Rights
Deytech respects the rights of consumers under applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or reduce statutory rights relating to:
- Defective goods;
- Unsafe goods;
- Goods that do not meet applicable quality requirements;
- Goods that do not correspond with their description;
- Incorrectly supplied goods; or
- Other circumstances where South African law provides a consumer remedy.
Where this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable legal requirement will take precedence.
